Narrative 3: Smiley and his[str] yellow[str] one-eyed[str] cow[str]
Smiley had a yellow one-eyed cow that didn’t have a tail, only just a short stump like a banana, and since he loves to bet this was[v/g] no difference. Down town there was an old slaughterhouse that has been out of use for the last 5 years. It was a dilapidated building. Due to the lack of maintenance and the fact that animals were being slaughter in there, it was a complete mess and there were flies everywhere covering the walls[str; ‘flies covering the walls everywhere’]. People who lived close by were constantly complaining about[v; ‘the’] flies and smell, but the government wasn’t able to do much since the place was a private property.
There was a homeless man walking around in the neighbor[v; ‘neighborhood’] in need of food. So he decided to ask the town people[v; ‘townspeople’] to pay him and he will[str/v/personal preference; ‘if they would pay him to’]clean the slaughterhouse. But of course[p] nobody felt the responsibility to clean it. Smiley heard of the man and decided to organize a bet. The bet was that if someone was able to clean the slaughterhouse completely, without leaving one single fly, he would win a thousand dollars collected by the ones who join[g] the bet. Everyone was free to join. Smiley decided to go alone[v; not sure but I think you mean ‘go along’ and in that case I suggest ‘decided to participate’]in this bet. People laughed at him when they heard that he was going[v; ‘doing it alone’]alone. They said that he can[g; stick to the past tense]never win because nobody can do it alone. Smiley didn’t care of all those talks behind his back.
The cleaning day has[g] come and Smiley was ready to go. At the end only 2 people were up for the challenge; Peter, the bravest man of the town[p] and the homeless man of course. First to go in was the homeless man. He went in with the only thing he possessed, a bucket of water. He found a piece of cloth somewhere in the building; he used it to clean. Every time he cleans[g] a piece, flies would come back to it. He tried this for the next half hour until he finally gave up.
Next in line was Peter, the bravest man of the town. He came in with lots of supporters and with different products to clean. He was ready for it. He started to clean, but same as[v; ‘just like’] the homeless man, the flies were stubborn so they lands[g] back to where they were;[p; not an expert in semi-colons but I don’t think it works here. Better a full stop, I think] not even the most expensive products in the world didn’t help him. After an hour and a half he gave up. He was so angry that he wanted to burn the place down, but of course he couldn’t, it was a private property.
Last, but not least it was Smiley’s turn. He came with only one thing and people started laughing because, if the bravest man of the town wasn’t able to win the bet, nobody can, Smiley much less. He walked in with his yellow one-eye[g] cow with a banana tail. The cow was shining bright and nobody knew how that was possible. As soon as the cow walked in every single fly flew towards him. The poor cow got scared and ran out of the building with the flies behind him. I believe either they became friends or he is still running, who knows. ٞ
