I endorse….Shaun Scott for D4!
I am incredibly excited to announce my endorsement of Shaun Scott, who is running for Seattle City Council in District 4. As former 46th District state legislator, vice chair of the transportation committee, and former ED of Transportation Choices Coalition, I am especially impressed with Shaun’s transportation and housing policy and want someone to be fighting for us at the local, regional and state levels. With an Eyman initiative at the ballot, the people of Seattle and District 4 need a candidate with a clear track record of supporting and fighting for transit.
Moreover, as a mom with three kids I am deeply concerned about climate change and the impact of a changing climate on their future. I want a councilmember who is committed to having Seattle run on 100% clean energy by 2025. Shaun’s proposal for a Green New Deal is nuanced and addresses the intersections of climate justice with housing, transportation, and racial justice — all while providing tangible and detailed solutions. You can read more about it here.
Progressives have made many gains in recent years, and we need to build on those. Now is the time for all of our neighbors in District 4 to unite against regressive politics in the city. All of our children deserve someone who will fight for their future, and I know that Shaun will do just that. You can learn more about him or get involved with his campaign at Shaun’s campaign website. Look for your ballot in the mail soon and remember to vote Shaun Scott!
