How do I know this

Dear You

You know you don’t really know me right

What you see in front of you is only a segment of my soul

Sometimes I’m quiet, other times I flourish

Maybe I’m scared to share all of me because you may not like me

Maybe I don’t feel I have to

Whereas you, you are one of those who everybody seems to know

You’re funny, decisive, confident, dependable

And yet, I don’t understand you

Because your infectious nature hides a darkness that refuses to surface and transform to light

How do I know this

Your eyes, Dear You, post glint, they hold lifetimes of sadness
