Put the language and some of its neat features aside, IMHO, the author’s comment about “cost nothing to adopt” is inaccurate. Its dependency on JVM or nodejs or some of the virtual machine is not “nothing”. You could argue that a traditional Java Enterprise shop already has a infrastructure to support it but that’s an assumption already already makes it “expensive”.
