Let’s toast to National Scotch Day

I was reminded by friends at The Saint Catherine Tavern in Brooklyn that today is National Scotch Day. They shared the spirit of this most holy of Scotch days via a few delightful sounding recipes. Sláinte!

Pimm’s no 16 (pictured)
2oz Well blended scotch
1oz Pimm’s
0.5oz Juniper simple syrup
0.5oz Lime
Top with ice, then ginger beer
Garnish with mint

“The nose knows”
2oz Well blended scotch
0.75oz Dry Orange Curaçao
0.25oz Fernet-Branca
Serve in glass rinsed with Caol Ila, with rocks and flamed orange twist

Pale single malt scotch (ideally Auchentoshan)
Lemon thyme tincture
Ginger beer
Serve on rocks with lemon twist
