“Eliminating racism, empowering women,” is YWCA Rhode Island’s motto, and it’s a mission they remain steadfastly dedicated to fulfilling as they celebrate their 150 year anniversary. I was honored to join President and CEO of YWCA Rhode Island, Deborah Perry, along with my colleagues in the federal delegation and other elected officials to recognize this significant milestone at a reception in the beautiful Roger Williams Botanical Center and Gardens.

YWCA Rhode Island’s history runs deep in our community. Year after year, they continue to offer services and programs to women of all ages from different socioeconomic backgrounds to help promote social justice and equality. Now more than ever, their leadership is important to empowering women and promoting peace.

I want to thank the YWCA for all they have done in Rhode Island, and I look forward to seeing the continuation of their mission of empowerment.
