Rhode Island is fortunate to have amazing state parks. Lincoln Woods stands out as a gem for the thousands of Rhode Islanders and tourists who enjoy it year round. I was honored to attend the ribbon-cutting for the Lincoln Woods Beach Pavilion, and I’m grateful for Senator Jack Reed’s commitment to helping the state secure the funds to complete this project. The new area has bathrooms, showers, concessions, updated parking spaces, and, most notably, a beautiful and safe space for families to enjoy Olney Pond. I’m delighted we have this beloved swimming hole back in full operation.

As a member of the Sustainable Energy and Environmental Coalition in Congress, I am committed to seeking solutions to make the Ocean State more eco-friendly. This project is a wonderful example of what can be achieved with an innovative approach.

I am proud to see that this space was able to be revamped for Rhode Islanders and tourists alike to enjoy. It is a wonderful retreat for swimming, fishing, walking, horseback riding, and good old-fashioned fun. With the summer approaching quickly, I hope that this will be a place to enjoy the beauty of Rhode Island with friends and family.
