Zoo-tastic!

For years, Rhode Islanders and tourists alike have enjoyed the animals and activities available at the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence. It is the third oldest zoo in the country, bringing smiles to people of all ages since 1872.
I enjoyed exploring the zoo at a recent visit with Executive Director Jeremy Goodman to learn about the animals, projects, as well as their many education and conservation efforts.
During my visit, I was pleased to stop by the animal hospital and see many of the animals throughout the 40-acre park. They are clearly well cared for and the employees are dedicated to keeping them healthy and safe.
From elephants and giraffes to exotic birds and reptiles, Roger Williams Park Zoo is a Rhode Island staple that families continue to enjoy year after year. In fact, it gets over 700,000 visitors annually, and with efforts underway to include more attractions and events, Jeremy explained the number of visitors is expected to grow significantly.
I look forward to visiting again soon and seeing firsthand the new exhibits and programs that will make this fantastic zoo an even more educational and entertaining place for Rhode Islanders and tourists alike!
