I found solace in the fact that we ‘are them’ in some way. We’re an evolution of our parents. We’re not the same person but we come from the same values and experiences. Whatever happens in our lives before or after, their words of wisdom will help us get through life, take the right choices and enjoy the fruits yet to come.

There’s barely a day I don’t think about my Dad, 1 year 4 months gone. Sometimes it’s sad other time it’s a nice to remember him. I kind of think of remembering as renewing him. In our mind we always remember things kind of hazy over time if we don’t remember.

But even the way you interpret this message you’re doing it a little through your parent’s eyes.

They’re always with you, always guiding you. It’s a comforting feeling. Even though the sorrow of never experiencing them again is gone, there’s an invisible and holding yours.

But look at your achievements and everything you’ve done to this point (pretty awesome looking at your bio), it wasn’t through fate, it was through those closest and most important to you, shaping your and you then making your own choices.

I hope this helps.
