Going “Interstellar” on Isaiah 55:9

On this Sabbath we’re going “Interstellar” on a verse found in Isaiah 55:9.

Track with me.

In one minute, light travels 11,000,000 miles.
In one day, light travels 160,000,000,000 miles.
In one year, light travels 5,865,696,000,000 miles.

And that’s just One Light Year!

The outer edges of the universe, according to astrophysicists, is 15.5 Billion Light-Years away!

How many miles does that translate into? A number that our finite minds cannot possibly understand.

Hence, we can safely say Our Best thoughts on Our Best day fall 15.5 Billion Light-Years short of God’s thoughts.

But there’s more.

Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 2:11–16 tells us that the Spirit searches the deep things of God — and for those who are in Christ Jesus — we’re given the Spirit of God and therefore the MIND of Christ!

Does this not literally blow your mind away?

Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, bridges and connects 15.5 Billion Light Years of thought — and places them on our minds so that we can begin to fathom and grasp just how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and know this love that surpasses knowledge — that we may be filled to the measure of all the FULLNESS of God. (Eph. 3:18–19)

And I’m right with Apostle Paul when He went onto exclaim:

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen! (Eph. 3:20–21)
