Surveys Taken by Lynchburg Residents
This past autumn, two surveys were distributed in Lynchburg by 434 Marketing and Lynch’s Landing along with other local offices. According to News Advance, the survey results showed that downtown Lynchburg residents would like to see more entertainment options, grocery stores, gas stations, and pharmacies in their area. They believe that these facilities would enrich both the everyday lives of the residents and the experiences of visitors and tourists.
House Fire and Snow-Covered Back Roads
On Saturday, emergency responders had difficulty getting to a house fire in Boonsboro due to snow left on the back roads. Bedford County Fire Department determined the cause of the fire was from ashes that were not disposed of properly. News Advance reports that the house damage totals an estimated $100,00 loss and that the owners are currently displaced.
Virginia Senate Glad to have SML Executive Director Vicki Gardner Back
As reported in News Advance, Vicki Gardner — the executive director of Smith Mountain Lake (SML) — came to stand before the Virginia senate gallery after recovering for several months from a gunshot she received in August. The same shooting had killed two WDBJ-7 journalists at SML. The senators expressed their joy in seeing Gardner join them once again.
