I can define America in one word: Possibilities.
The ability for everyone in this country — and I mean everyone — to dream big and achieve the impossible has always set America apart from every other nation.
Folks, the history of the journey of this nation is one of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
We’re the people who built the Hoover Dam and the Transcontinental Railroad, landed a man on the moon, cured polio, built the internet and sequenced the human genome. And yes — soon we will be the people who will find a cure for cancer.
Thinking big is stamped into the DNA of the American soul.
That’s why the negativity, the pettiness, the small-mindedness of our politics today drives me crazy.
It’s not who we are.
In America, everyone is dealt in on the deal. You don’t need to be born into money or power or influence. You get a shot to make it too.
The next great leader is growing up somewhere in this nation today. And chances we’ve never heard of them or their family. That is what’s great about America. Possibilities. If we ever lose that we will lose the soul of this nation.
It’s time for big dreams and American possibilities.
If that’s what you believe — and you’re ready to help elect folks who believe that, and to support groups and causes that embody that spirit — then I’m asking you to join me today.
