What I have learned
I’ve learned that you cannot make someone love you,
all you can do is be someone who can be loved.
I’ve learned that just because two people argue,
it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other.
I’ve learned that just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to,
it doesn’t mean they don’t love you all they can.
I’ve learned that desire and passion are not guaranteed in a relationship,
they must be tendered to like a fire, so it keeps burning for years to come.
I’ve learned that we will make mistakes with each other,
but we need to forgive our mistakes and promise to never give up on each other.
I’ve learned not to take for granted the small moments that seem to pass by,
memories and togetherness make a moment; tomorrow is promise to no one.
I’ve learned to live in the moment and not look to the past or too far into the future,
the past is over, the future is unknown, the gift is now, that is why it is called the present!
I’ve learned to love my myself, but not because of who I am,
but mainly because of who I am when I am with YOU.
But most of all, I’ve learned:
we must love each other without restriction,
we must trust each each other without fear,
we must accept each other for who we are,
