Sound Work — Bringing life to still images
To work on my ability to create ambiance in film I decided to do three very small projects on creating simple yet effective ambiance for still images, in a way trying to imerse the viewer into the photographs, I didn’t want to complicate things so I left the ambaince to around 3–4layers of audio that I have collected over the months. It goes to show that good ambiance doesn’t have to be complicated.
I apologise for the quality in the images, as I can’t directly add my video to MEDIUM Ihave to upload it to youtube and then enter the URL and that means a loss in quality.
The first one I made was of a wood path, I used the sound of wind through trees, tweeting of birds, general air ambiance and leaf rustling to create this, after editing the individual components I just had to fade in and fade out components until it sounded natural.

I made a second one, this time create a creepy atmosphere this only used a layer of three seperate components but it makes for an effective bit of ambiance, I used audacity to add echo effects to the dripping and footsteps. Again all sound components came from my library of sounds that I have been collecting since the end of last year
