On The Line — Week 15
The Vegas line on each NFL game is looked at vigorously for those trying to make some extra money or those just looking for who is favored this weekend. Wagers are just another way to spice up the football season. Before my picks each week, I will list my current win/loss and push record from the previous weeks. So I am picking all of the NFL games based on set lines that could or could not win me money if I was a betting man.
Week 14: 11–4–1
Overall Record: 113–89–5 (54.6%)
TNF: Rams at Seahawks (-14.5)
Seahawks (-14.5). In the pacific northwest, the Seahawks respond to the bad outing they had last week by blowing out the Rams.
Saturday: Dolphins (-2.5) at Jets
Dolphins (-2.5). I’ll take the Fins defense to step up big against New York’s backup to the backup quarterback, Bryce Petty.
Packers (-5.5) at Bears
Packers (-5.5). If Rodgers plays, the Pack win by a touchdown.
Jaguars at Texans (-6)
Jaguars (+6). I do not believe in the Texans. They won last week because the Colts decided to run a screen pass on 4th and 1. Taking the points here.
Browns at Bills (-10)
Browns (+10). In my head, if Cody Kessler relieves RGIII, then Cleveland gets their one win. This will spell the end for Rex Ryan in Buffalo.
Eagles at Ravens (-5.5)
Ravens (-5.5). Wentz continues to look like the rookie that he is. Flacco and the Ravens keep themselves in playoff contention with the win.
Titans at Chiefs (-5.5)
Chiefs (-5.5). Kansas City keeps their bid for the number 1 seed in the AFC alive with a win against the Titans.
Lions at Giants (-4)
Lions (+4). Matt Stafford gets another late touchdown to seal it for the Lions.
Colts at Vikings (-4.5)
Vikings (-4.5). Cordarlle Patterson is the difference with a massive return in the 2nd half.
Steelers (-3) at Bengals
Steelers (-3). The world trusts Big Ben more than the Red Water Pistol. Even though it is a division matchup, I’ll take Pittsburgh by at least 7.
Saints at Cardinals (-2.5)
Cardinals (-2.5). The Saints look horrible and have for most of the season. I’ll take the lesser of two evils in this game, and that is the Cardinals at home.
49ers at Falcons (-13.5)
Falcons (-13.5). Falcons win big. Points almost lead me to San Francisco.
Patriots (-3) at Broncos
Patriots (-3). Tom Brady over Trevor Simian. Easy.
Raiders (-3) at Chargers
Raiders (-3). Carr and the Raiders head to San Diego and smash the Chargers in the mouth. Rivers keeps it a game into the 3rd quarter, but Carr and company pull away in the 4th.
SNF: Buccaneers at Cowboys (-7)
Buccaneers (+7). I don’t know why I am doing this but I am.
MNF: Panthers at Redskins (-6.5)
Redskins (-6.5). The weapons of the Redskins makes the difference. Big deep passing plays keep Washington’s playoff hopes alive.
