On The Line — Week 6

The lines are looked at vigorously for those trying to make some extra money or those just looking for who is favored this weekend. Before my picks each week, I will list my current win/loss and push record from the previous week with my overall season record. I present to you the Vegas line of each NFL game this week:

Week 5: 6–8

Overall Record: 35–42–0 (45.5%)

Eagles at Panthers (-3)

Eagles (+3). Believe the Eagles folks. Carolina will stumble after each win they have.

49ers at Redskins (-11)

49ers (+11). The 11 is too many points to swallow so the Niners cover.

Dolphins at Falcons (-12.5)

Dolphins (+12.5). Same case as before, too many points.

Packers (-3) at Vikings

Packers (-3). Rodgers > Keenum.

Lions at Saints (-4.5)

Lions (+4.5). I will continue to take Stafford because the Saints cannot defend still and a late Brees comeback field goal would still give me a W.

Patriots (-9) at Jets

Patriots (-9). I guess this is where I have to be a man and go against a big number. Despite the Patriots struggles this season, you have to believe that they get on track against the Jets.

Bears at Ravens (-6.5)

Bears (+6.5). For some reason I will take the points and the Bears. Can Mitchell do me well two weeks in a row?

Browns at Texans (-9.5)

Texans (-9.5). You are crazy if you go against Watson against this defense.

Buccaneers (-1.5) at Cardinals

Buccaneers (-1.5). Who proves to be the difference in this game? Maybe Carson Palmer and his turnovers. Maybe its Adrian Peterson in his Arizona debut. I’ll take OJ Howard or Mike Evans as the x-factor.

Rams at Jaguars (-2.5)

Rams (+2.5). The Rams could have won last week against the Seahawks if Kupp held onto a touchdown. They will be able to outplay the Jaguars.

Steelers at Chiefs (-4.5)

Chiefs (-4.5). The Steelers are in too much of disarray for me to consider them covering this week against the best team in football.

Chargers at Raiders (Even)

Chargers. If Carr plays, Raiders win. But Phillip can still ball out in division.

Giants at Broncos (-11.5)

Broncos (-11.5). In this situation, I will most definitely swallow 11.5. The Giants cannot get these new receivers up and ready against this Denver secondary in Denver in less than a weeks time. The Broncos make huge plays offensively and the Giants get blown out.

Colts at Titans (Even)

Titans. With an even spread, I will take the team with the better quarterback and team. The Titans win.
