Loic, your French dinner sounds divine, although I must point out that the food discussion WAS “shop talk” for the Food Editor in your group. And your description of a Silicon Valley dinner can be very much like a work dinner in other parts of the USA, but it probably depends on the participants. I am also a man that also straddles cultures (mom is Brazilian, dad was Hungarian) and I grew up in cosmopolitan Chicago, so many of my work dinners are more like your French dinner. It’s so much more fun — c’est la vie, non? And maybe I have a little French in me because even I know not to take the whole blue vein for myself from the roquefort…
