Why I Won’t Help The DEMS

In response to a very great guy, friend, fellow Bernie Sanders supporter, local union member, delegate to the DNC, and all around good guy, I shared my feelings about passing on the opportunity at hand:

Good luck with that bud. I won’t be joining you as a DFL’er, but I will always be here to fight for anyone, regardless of party affiliation, that fights for the betterment of society.

I will be joining the push for the Green Party to get Jill Stein up to 15% in order to make the debates. I know that your obligation and outlook is relatively different than mine. I feel there are many fronts in this fight, and not everyone can bring themselves to support the 3rd major party in our system that DOES already support many if not all of the policy issues that Bernie Sanders does.

I don’t really believe that Bernie Sanders wants to see Hillary Clinton in the WH, no matter what he has to say publicly. I don’t buy it. And I don’t buy this premise that she is the better choice over Donald J. Trump.

I feel that if a 3rd Party is ever going to be taken seriously, it is now that we have to make the push to send a real message to the Establishments, that they are done.

I think if everyone that thinks like you does for her what we did for Bernie Sanders, we could win this with the Green Party. We have 42 million votes, in college students alone, to pull from.

Bernie Sanders was a relative unknown. #OurRevloution, that he ignited, took him to where he is right now. And it took a long time to get those people mobilized. We are already here. All we have to do is shift the movement to another figurehead.

You are right, this is not about Bernie Sanders, but it is also not about folding into the system, even further, to allow for how many years of stagnation? Even if Trump did win, he would only serve one term. Guaranteed! And by the end of that first term, we should have a non-Republican run house and senate. Would it be a great 4 years, NO! Will it ensure that the MISCONDUCT of the Democrat party will not be tolerated? Yes!

WE MUST NOT REWARD WRONGDOING. Everyone that is a parent in here knows that you end up with a worse situation because you allow your child to get away with something. Like when a child cries, you hand him the toy he wants. So he will continue to cry every time he doesn’t get what he wants. For a personal example:

My son’s mother, when he was a toddler, and he wouldn’t eat the food on his plate for dinner, she would eventually give him a cookie, and say, “Well at least he is eating something.” I don’t think I have to explain to anyone in here the fault with that thinking.

So while I love and appreciate anyone that has fought for Bernie Sanders in or out of the MN DFLs, I can’t join in. And I do appreciate the feeling of belonging that comes from being part of a larger organization or cause. So I understand why you would want to stay.

HOWEVER, I’m a soothsayer. I know a Hillary Clinton is not going to futher #OurRevlution. IT NEVER DOES. Anytime a movement builds behind a non-bi-party candidate or movement, the fire under it soon gets extinguished by the aftermath of the election.

I disagree. I believe OUR TIME IS NOW ! Hillary Clinton does NOT deserve this honor. So there’s my counterpoint!

All things I have already considered. I just disagree with the message of this election. The biggest thing I believe I agree with is the Strategy issue. However, in that he is missing the underlying base that is getting built, regardless of the next President.

He is right ANY third party insurgence is going to have to grow from the bottom up. And that is exactly what has happened. To say that the largest progressive movement in modern times, should just give up on the national stage, after getting this far and having this much publicity, is counter to his underlying argument.

True we all know that Jill Stein is going to have it just as hard as Bernie Sanders did, if not harder. But she should at least get that chance to make that case to the American People. Now even if you are NOT going to vote for her, you should at least want to include her on the national stage.

And as for him giving up on the Green Party because they couldn’t get their act together, is like giving up on your child for not behaving. You don’t do that. You keep working with your child. You keep teaching your child. You HELP your child grow up.

IT IS ALWAYS NEXT TIME!!! We will get started on building the revolution NEXT TIME! You don’t win a revolution by talking about it.

While I love and respect all of you and your feelings and opinions, I will tell you that it is these types of sentiments that keep extinguishing #OurRevolution, every few years. So we can keep talking about it. WE can keep blaming the failing of #OurRevolution on the lack of good leaders. We can blame it on poor strategy. Or we can just make a decision that no matter what happens, we are going to FINALLY stand our ground against corruption, destroy the veil of unity that exists in the Democrats party, and finally make it known that, even if we don’t win, we will have built the foundation. We can’t build the foundation, by giving in to fear.

#OurRevolution is not being fought with weapons of war. It is being fought in the spirits of all those that have been fighting for freedom from the oppression and monopoly of power in our governments.

You may view me as an extremist for my views, but I’m really not at all. Those who have met me personally know that I’m outspoken, but not unreasonable. We can’t keep silencing the movement and putting it on hold every 4 years, to allow the dominance of the two party system to continue.

By telling the political and elite class that we are NOT going to fall in line any more, we are going to support another agenda, even if we lose because this time “NEXT TIME’” is going to come out of the gate already swinging and well known.

The problem is the Green Party’s strategy. The problem is the people with the skills to change the strategy keep giving up and going back to the DEMs, where it’s SAFE. It’s not right. But it’s SAFE. And safe is only going to get us what we have always had.

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

I don’t care if you want to stay registered as a DEM because you are afraid. But don’t sacrifice the values of #OurRevolution because of your own fears. You see the Trump scare is not enough to tell me that I should silent my fight. Neither is the Hillary scare.

I have made a decision this round to vote my conscience. And after that, I’m going to get involved in Rochester with some of the Education reform. I may take a seat in office. I will NOT affiliate myself with any party, but will remain open to working with all. If a local party is worthy of my support, I can tell you it won’t be the DEMs. I just know that. I believe that organization is too far gone. Not all the members, of course, but the heads at least. We saw that. And with Kim Norton’s exchange with me over the exclusivity mentality of the DEMs, I don’t want to be a part of a snooty elitist group.

Some may stay in and continue to fight from the inside and report back to #OurRevolution. But even Bernie Sanders is NOT going to put a D behind his name. He is going to remain an Independent, despite a quickly made comment he made one day when cornered on an interview. This idea that we keep just falling inline and reinforcing the DEMs after they commit fraud and corruption really is beyond me. I really couldn’t do it.

To say that the Green Party is not organized, and then have organizers like our very own Keith McLain say he is going to remain a democrat is hard to swallow. Does anyone understand that? I dont’ care what Bernie Sanders has said on TV. He hasn’t send me ONE email asking me to support her. Has anyone else received an email from the Bernie Sanders Campaign, OurRevolution.com or any other affiliated Bernie Sanders official spokes group to vote for Hillary Clinton?

No. and do you know why. Because it is not in what is in Bernie Sanders’ heart. He is playing his game as he needs to in his unique position. but anyone that has worked as hard for Bernie Sanders as those I have met through this experience should know, his words are his game of politics at this point. We aren’t Bernie Sanders. We didn’t just go through what he did. Let him do his thing. But damn it, we have a responsibility to ourselves, to our children and families, and to Bernie Sanders to keep this fight up NOW. Not NEXT TIME. Now.

Many DEMs say that no one should take part in positions on the DNC, if they are not “Democrats”. So they are welcome to come in, as long as they don’t say anything. To my point, why are people that are not welcome in a group trying to stay? One democrat explains to non-DEMs how they feel about it, in the nicest of ways, but some DEMs are being hard headed and trying to change the party from the inside, and they don’t want to change.

Remember that the Democrat’s party is now Neo-Liberal. And it became that and was reinforced as that through the Clinton Administration. Why would you think another Clinton would allow that to change?

You can’t start a 3rd party by endorsing opposing factions during the big show. You have to commit to your principles and learn to take a hint. And you have to live with the results and fight on. Neither of the two major party candidates deserves to hols that office. There is no lesser evil. They are both as evil as the next.

Progressives are not welcome in the Democrat’s Party, unless progress is only a button they wear.
