The First Project
This has been the week of brainstorming for the Innovations class. Most everyone has a clear idea of what project he/she is going to elaborate on for the next 3 weeks. The goal for the first project is simple: Small and Accomplishable. I am working with Jordan Yaney to assist the special needs kids in our school. We plan to teach the “super seniors” how to perform basic tasks around the home, to gain independence when they are fully introduced to the outside world. We will be working with Mrs. Sculthorp, one of the teachers of the class, to guide the students on this path of learning.
Mrs. Sculthorp has expressed to me the importance of helping these students succeed. Over the next few weeks, Jordan and I will be meeting with her and the other teachers to break down the project into smaller tasks. We will create a strict timeline in order to keep on track, and hopefully take this project to the desired endpoint.
