Can’t help but assume this is partly an allusion to the GOP’s completely invented Fallwellian anti-abortion stance in the 70s/80s: a purpose-built fake scandal to rally the troops since GOP ideas have no place in a modern society. (Here’s an explainer on the abortion thing: https://youtu.be/pPsderlzd6c). The very successful HRC smear campaign is no different and no more substantive.
