How To: Throw An Impromptu Star Party This Weekend

The Perseid meteor shower starts tonight and will be visible through each evening this weekend. This is not your average run of the mill meteor shower though, this event, according to scientists will have double the amount of visible meteors to behold, the most we’ve seen in a decade. Sounds like cause to get some friends together for an adventure if you ask us. Below our tips for throwing a great impromptu Perseid viewing party.
Step 1: Find a good viewing spot. Figure out a spot with a good view of the sky and not much light pollution. Think a beach, backyard, rooftop or park with a wide view of the sky.
Step 2: Invite friends on Amigo and specify where and when to join. The shower peaks Thursday night from midnight to early Friday morning, but will be visible as early as 10PM (local time where ever you are). Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights there will also be a ton.
Step 3: Tell everyone to bring a blanket, pillow and something to sip on.
Step 4: Be a total hero and bring some Fig Newtons for everyone.
Step 5: Make a wish!
