Self Promotion

You are special, unique, intelligent and have an incredible amount of value to give to this world. You think outside the box. You know that if you could just show everyone what is going on inside your mind, that they would embrace you and love you. You have the best intentions.

You are a beautiful current in the ocean of life. Flowing and mingling with the rest of the great body of water, carrying fish guts and dead seamen all around the world.

Why are you so scared of telling everyone? Did someone at some point tell you it was impolite to toot your own horn? Did you hear that you should be modest? Let others discover your value on their own?

You may have heard something along the lines of “If you’re good at something, you have to tell everyone. If you’re great at it, they’ll tell you.” So you waited. You put out content, but you kept it a secret. Maybe you have a blog, or a sketchbook that you’ve invested hours of your life in, but haven’t shown anyone. Perhaps you’re scared of being judged. Perhaps you don’t think that anyone else would be interested in what you have to give.

On behalf of the world, fucking stop.

Give. Come on. This is a time when everyone is pumping out shitty content faster than anyone can keep up with it. So, what you have, is the opportunity to get lost in the noise. To just create some shit, that no-one cares about, that you spend your time on thinking perhaps one day someone will discover it and love the intricacies of your mind.

Or, you can open yourself up to feedback. Tell those around you, who you trust and who care about you what you’re doing. Ask them how you can improve. Just put yourself out there for your immediate tribe, then shift according to the feedback you get, and go in a different direction, or, if your work is well received, just create more like it!

You have a creative side.

We want to see it.
