Give proper feedback to unsuccessful candidates. Bear in mind that these people have their networks too — having a good experience even if they weren’t successful can only be to your advantage. Maybe stay in touch, cultivate some relationships.

Great post Dan, it’s refreshing to see someone in the industry stand up & take ownership of their recruitment responsibilities. Too many leave it up to chance, and don’t realise there’s significantly more they can do to positively impact their hiring efforts.

Candidate experience is a topic I’m particularly passionate about, even from an external recruiter’s perspective. I believe there’s plenty of value to be found in forming a collaborative in-house & outside recruitment partnership.
