It’s coming to the end of the semester… you know what that means?

EXAMS.

One of the best way to succeed in them is to study for them! You probably don’t remember everything said and taught in the lectures that you “hopefully” attended, so you have to review the course materials. All the notes you or someone else had taken during the course must be looked over to have a better shot at doing well on the exam. But that’s boring. You wanna study in a way that is a lot more enjoyable. That’s where Quizlet can help out! Quizlet is a website that allows you to create your own flashcards, mix and match, and personally made quizzes to help you prepare better for the exam. The website was created by Andrew Sutherland. At the time of release, he developed it to be used as a study tool to help with his vocabulary assessment.

Quizlet does not require a payment to use their service, so all you need is to sign up for an account using an email, Facebook, or Twitter account. Once an account is created, you will be directed to the “Latest Activity” page where you can create a study set on the top on the page, followed by a section where all your created study sets will be placed so you can readily access them whenever you like.

When you create your own study set, you start by giving it a title of your choice, followed by inputting all of your questions and answers you want to study and be tested on. By default, you are given a template of 5 question and answer slots, but you can add more by simply clicking the “+ Add Card” button at the bottom of the page. You are also given the ability to add images to your answers, making it very helpful if you are a visual learner. Quizlet also gives you the freedom to choose the language you prefer to write with, making it more universal for their users.

Quizlet supports collaboration, so you can have people working together in areas such as editing the questions and answers, as long as you give them permission to do so. Quizlet lets you choose who can access and edit your quizzes. You have the choice between having your study set being visible and editable to “Everyone”, “Certain classes”, “People with a password”, or “Just me”.

Once you finish creating all the questions and answers, you can then choose which method of testing you prefer when you attempt the quiz. You have the choice between having the questions and answers as flashcards, matching, multiple choice, true or false, spelling, manual writing, and more.

Flashcards: Allows to flip back and forth between the question and the answer.

Learn: Manually typing in the answer to the term or definition.

Spell: Manually typing in the term or definition associated with what you hear.

Test: Manually type out the answer in the format of a standardized test.

Match: Gives all the questions and answers scrambled, and you must select the correct pairing for them.

Gravity: It is in the form of a game. You must manually type in the answer to the question before the asteroids hit the ground.

Quiz yourself right now to see how much you actually know at the moment!

You can always go back and review your study sets if you get some of the questions wrong, and then re-do the test. The more practice you give yourself, the better you will understand the material you need for your exam!

Overall, Quizlet is a really helpful tool in reviewing and preparing for any form of evaluation, especially for exams.

Highly preferred that you do not begin studying the night before the exam, otherwise you will look like Sylvester.
