Sentimental Value vs Market Value

Sentimental Value Definition:

  • Noun - the value of something to someone because of personal or emotional associations rather than material worth.

Market Value Definition:

  • the amount for which something can be sold on a given market.

(“It doesn’t matter how much you have invested”)

Maybe I should repeat this for the people in the back. Holding onto something for too long because you want to get more for it when the market says otherwise is greed or ignorance and sometimes a combination of both. Just because you payed more for it, doesn’t mean you will get that back in a return. There are times when you will lose money, but there are also times when you will gain a large profit. Don’t lose a large profit because of the emotional attachment you have to an object. You should invest in things you love, but don’t let that love hold you back and become a stressor . Sometimes a buyer won’t realize, or care, that what you are selling means the world to you and just assume you are trying to swindle the sale in your favor. Always, hire an appraiser if you are unsure about the current market value, and get it off your hands quickly so you can move on and love something new. You deserve that kind of happiness.

(SIDE NOTE: now I hope you understand I am just being completely direct and nothing more because I honestly want the best deal and bit of happiness to come into your life. As well as be free from financial burden. No one deserves to be stressed out by bills, or pricing, or debt. We deserve to be free and happy.)
