Against “Don’t Read the Comments”
Anil Dash

In my teens (around 2003–2006) I was involved with an online videogame community, with 1000s of users and 100s of thousands of posts. We had a pack of moderators giving people who spam, bully or harass warnings and after 3 warnings they’d be banned for several weeks. If this behavior would continue they’d be perma-banned (publicly announced by the moderator).

Pretty straightforward solution I reckon, leading to a platform free of harassment.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
