An Analysis of Trump’s Biggest Lies of the Campaign — Banning of Islam AKA the “Travel Ban”

No Trump lie is more dangerous and disgusting than how he turned huge portions of our population against those who believe in Islam. Like that jerk in the middle school cafeteria, instigating fights and then watching them from a safe distance. During the campaign, Trump riled his supporters by promising, if elected, to prevent Islamic people from entering our country. Trump’s logic was that this category of people are terrorists.

To jam packed audiences, Trump falsely portrayed Islam as a bastion of terrorism and hatred. Trump asserted that Muslims pose a distinct threat to Americans, and that Muslims kill an enormous amount of Americans. Those are blatant lies, and very dangerous ones as well.

According to a University of North Carolina study, terrorism committed by Muslims account for one third of one percent of murders in the US. Still, Trump devoted his entire campaign to banning these people from our country.

“It is flatly untrue that America is deeply threatened by violent extremism by Muslim-Americans,” David Schanzer, director of the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security, said in a statement accompanying the study’s release. “Attacks by Muslims accounted for only one third of one percent of all murders in America last year.”

This one really is a no-brainer. A ban strictly based on religious beliefs, would totally change the identity of our country. Trump defends his travel ban, by explaining how Obama did the same thing.

All comparisons to “Obama’s ban” are irrelevant. Because “refugees continued to be admitted to the United States during that time (Obama’s presidency), and there was not a single month in which no Iraqis arrived here.” ForeignPolicy article.

In other words, while there were delays in processing, there was no outright ban. Quite frankly, America would not be the land of the home and the free anymore.

Still, Trump tried to claim Obama did it as well.

Reality — The first thing Trump did when he was president was to implement his ban. To ban a religion from entering our country goes against every letter of our constitution. Even the most conservative judge would have a problem agreeing with this one.

Judges across the country blocked the ban. So Trump and his dim-witted think-tank, huddled together and sketched a new travel ban across a dilapidated black board in the White House basement. The revised travel ban was almost identical to it’s original. Hence, that one too was blocked by judges across the country as soon as Trump tried to implement it.

I wrote this article a few months ago. The article is about how Islam is the second biggest religion in the world. The word Islam means peace in Arabic. By 2050, it will be the most popular religion in the world. Do you really think none of these people deserve to enter the country? Also in my article, I write about how educated Islamic people are. They are the most educated religion in the world. Doctors and scientists and engineers make up a very large percentage. As a country, we should be encouraging MORE of them to enter our country.
