“A verse to the people just to be clear / That we’re all blessed just to be here”

My latest release “To Be Here”

I chose to start off my post with my song because it really lets you know the place I’m at in my life. A place of reflection, happiness, peace, & most importantly, love. The last 2 years have been such a ride… I’ve experienced moments that I’ll never forget, and have strengthened my relationships with the people that mean the most to me. I’m at the best place in terms on my fitness as well. I’ve evolved and cut out my bad habits and have lead myself down a road of promise and enlightenment. The number one thing I’ve learned this year is how much we can accomplish once we simply put our heads down and work hard. It sounds simple, but to act upon your thoughts is something I think a lot of us struggle with, myself included. With the help of my brother and close friend, I’ve elevated my life and have become the star I’ve always wanted to be. And THAT, is something that no one can ever take from me.

From January to this current point, I’ve really came a long way. I’ve built up so much confidence and strength that I have been able to pass these qualities onto others. The gift of giving has always brought me joy, and now more than ever, I have so much more to offer to my people, and anyone willing to listen. I am happy with who I see in the mirror every day. Every morning I wake, I feel empowered and determined to change the world. If today were my last day here, I am very content with the impact I’ve had on society. As I mention my happiness, I’m still not fully satisfied because I know I have a long way to go.

“There is no story unless you’ve written it”.

A timeless quote from Hunter S. Thompson. I find this quote to really hit home for me. I used to think my path was preset and there was no way to write my story. But, ever since the moment I decided to put my head down and begin writing it, it has become so lively and vibrant. We all possess a unique glow, along with an artistic mind. We just let those elements slowly die off because we focus too hard on what we don’t have, rather than the blessings that are right in front of us. Think about it… think about all of the wonderful things that you do have. Think about the people, even if it’s one or two that genuinely care for your well being and want to see you shine. Once you take a step back and renew your perspective for the better, your thoughts and words will follow suit. A long time ago, I realized that someone, somewhere might be looking up to me, watching my every move, therefore I decided that I must always carry out my life with high regard at all times.

As I’ve grown into my own, I’ve been blessed enough to be able to share my story with a few people outside of my circle. The words exchanged and time spent is something that I’ll never forget. The majority of these moments nearly bring me to tears because of how humbling that feeling is for me. I remember being a spectator on the outside looking in. Times are different now… I’m now positively affecting lives, and it feels great. My elevation has become so grand that I can pass my story of hope and struggle to others. That is the number one accomplishment for me. This holds true because as an artist and writer, my sole purpose is to create something that someone else feels and relates to just as much as I do. Never has it been about the money or fame for me. The moments that I’ve experienced this will forever be invaluable and timeless, worth much more than any dollar amount.

The last thing I will say is this… stop worrying about anything else in the world. Your name is really all you have and you are the only person that can attain your wildest dreams. Others will be willing to help you along the way, but it is you that has full control of your success or failure. As mentioned in this article, I’ve been able to make many changes in my life. The first step that helped me do so was for me to escape my own rules. Whatever it is that you’re doing has got you to this point so far. If you are someone that is dissatisfied and/or unhappy with your current situation, you have to change your normal course of action. That means cutting out every single bad habit, every single negative thought and negative word that you harbor in your mind every day. That also means completely eliminating anyone who can’t adapt or contribute to your dream of happiness and success. You are far too great to allow for someone to steal your glow from you.

The pressure to succeed is heavy, I know… But, once you take a step back, you will see that the good fight is always worth fighting for. Achieve every new goal set for yourself and not for anyone else’s acceptance or approval. Once you accept yourself, you will be the only competition, therefore you’ll always be working to be better than you were yesterday.
