I’m Jorie Ella and I’m here to tell stories. I’m a graduate student pursuing a PhD in a subject that has nothing to do with creative writing, but provides a functional practical career outlet for my interests. Since I’ve began my program, I haven’t been consistent with honing my craft, which has been my creative outlet since childhood. At this point I’m hoping to write fiction, but I’m also liable to write a non-fiction piece. My interests are wide-ranging and tangential. I’m intrigued by cultural history, architecture, food, visual art, maps, and the general human existence. I usually write about women, marginalization, love, identity, sex, and resilience. I would love to incorporate more mysticism, fantasy, and fairy tale elements into my writing as I progress. Thank you for reading.
