Would you accept the premise that Scott might have been using his Patreon and the family stories to illustrate the “feeling like” he had basic income (because we do not have it as a formal program at the moment)?
Not logically had basic income as has been outlined in countless online discussion … but more to illustrate living conditions like he has basic income? (Like what $1k a month income in leverage allows in terms of freedom, for example).
You’re picking his single article apart here (taking it “too” literally), I’m afraid. Scott has written on this topic for quite some time now and has illustrated quite clearly what a formal program would look like.
His reddit is a good place to start for the more formal explication of a basic income “in” society might look like.
