The Dark Matter Series
Joseph Mallozzi is a writer and producer who started out writing TV animation and eventually wrote and produced Student Bodies, Fox’s teen sitcom. Joseph Mallozzi is co-creator, executive producer, and writer of Dark Matter, a science fiction program on the Syfy channel.
Dark Matter is based on a series of comics by the same name, also co-created by Mr. Mallozzi. The plot revolves around six people who wake up on a starship with no memory. The characters must gain control of the starship and then start the process of figuring out what happened to them. They name themselves from “One” to “Six” based on the sequence in which they awoke. There is also a seventh character who is an Android. As the seven crewmembers journey through space unraveling their past, they encounter a variety of hostile situations, which they must overcome.
The first season of the show, comprising 13 episodes, aired on June 12, 2015, and ended on August 28, 2015. Dark Matter was renewed for a second season.
