Another factual error: In the book version of the story Wallace asserts that in the Pantagraph “The Op-Ed column for 9/12 starts out: ‘The carnage we have seen through the eyes of lenses in New York City and Washington D.C., still seems like an R-rated movie out of Hollywood.” This passage is not included in the Rolling Stone version, perhaps because the editorial was actually published in the Pantagraph on September 16, 2001, and the quoted material above actually comes in the second paragraph.
