But on the morning of the attacks, Wallace was at home in the shower “trying to listen to a Bears postmortem on WSCR Sports Radio in Chicago.”

The Bears did in fact lose their Week 1 match-up against the Baltimore Ravens, 17–6. The game, however, was played on Sunday, September 9, 2001, whereas the intimation from Wallace’s wording is that the contest took place the night before. (Though, of course, with any loss Chicago sports talk radio would spend the entire week dissecting the game. That opening loss, however, was one of only three the Bears suffered that season. They went 13–3 and won the NFC Central before being upset at home by the Philadelphia Eagles 33–19 in the NFC Divisional playoff.)
