Enjoy!

1. Ring Security Camera

For all the times you were comfortable in bed watching Netflix then suddenly heard the doorbell ring and were unsure who was knocking– we have a fix: Ring Security Cameras. You’re sure to love it for the most obvious reason –you can safely answer your door from anywhere. I like to call it “the caller ID for the front door”. Their Stick Up Cam works with your mobile devices to allow you to see who is at your front door. It works indoors, outdoors, and wirelessly thanks to the built-in batteries. The Stick Up Cam even comes with two-way speakers, a microphone, and infrared sensing for motion detection –this will aid homeowners in maintaining their privacy.

So, with the help of Ring, you can take a quick look at your phone and tell the window man that you are not interested in an estimate today–all from the comfort of your bed!

In the future, I would not be surprised if Amazon were to acquire this company as they continue to battle against Google in the connected home market.

2. Toyota and Amazon

This past week at CES (Consumer Technology Association) Toyota announced the carmaker will be placing Amazon Alexa within its vehicles –they’ll be one of the first automakers to completely integrate Amazon’s assistant into their systems. Toyota also mentioned that all cars made after 2018 will be equipped with Alexa to use while on the go. No doubt this will be a big upgrade from the systems in most of today’s vehicles.

Alexa skills for the car system will be more robust, the skills will allow users to do a wide range of tasks. Drivers can get updates, control their entertainment system, open their garage door and even set the temperature of their home by connecting with smart home devices.

Some other car brands have announced plans to add Alexa in too, BMW and Ford plan to incorporate her to into their car systems in the coming months.

3. Prothesis by Furrion

Here is one of the coolest machines I’ve seen all year!

This is Prothesis and a company called Furrion created it. Although it looks like a robot, it isn’t. Furrion says it’s an exoskeleton because it requires a driver to control it. And they’re hoping that fleets of these machines will one day race in leagues –and I’m sure it will be more exciting than NASCAR.

Prothesis weighs about 8,000 pounds and has a top speed of 20 mph. But, as for the price, there is no known amount which likely means it’s an arm and a leg.

Stick around for more!
