There are no commercials on Netflix, HBO Go, Amazon Prime, or any streaming services like that. And you can’t ignore the narrative quality of a show like Breaking Bad or The Wire—they’re better than a lot of the novels I’ve read lately.

Look, you can not be a fan of TV, that’s cool, and certainly many shows are terrible, but you have to recognize what quality there is. Because for every great novel there are also100 shitty ones that aren’t worth your time, so it’s silly to pretend that literature is always so much better than TV.
