I took a photo of strangers kissing on a NYC street. What happened next I did not expect.
A short @Instagram love story.

I left my office off Bryant Park early on Tuesday to take photos of the the “Myth of Venus” statue on Rockefeller Plaza for my friend Rach. She wanted them for an iPhone app called YapZap she’s developing at Harvard.
My point-and-shoot photo assignment complete, I turned to escape the mist when a well-coifed couple approached the statue and shared a passionate kiss.

Of the half dozen shots I snapped, I put one up for my modest group of Instagram followers where it quickly became my most popular post ever.

A day later, @ivanolita, a stranger to me, stumbled on the picture and recognized the young lovers as Daniele Caveli (@danielecavalli), a fashion mogul, and Magdalena Frackowiak (@frackowiakmagdalena), a Victoria’s Secret angel from Poland.
Both use Instagram. Through @ivanolita they found the post and complimented it, in awe that out of more than 100 million Instagram users and 8 million NYC residents we had managed to find eachother.
My delight was complete when my friend, Rach, had real models as the very first models for her new app.
