Sonny – how happy I am that you saw all these things from my piece. I’m just so chuffed. I really love your comment about my photo and 7 year old me tearing across the beach (I love that expression and haven’t heard it in some time so thanks for reminding me).
I agree. It does feel like home, Medium, and it’s a huge shame about what is happening with Kel and the seagull who shat on her. I’m waiting to see what Medium can sort out.
I reckon it can still be home here, though, Sonny. We have a good community. ‘There’s good stuff we got hea!’
Not to get too Mary Poppins about it, but there’s a purity in transparency I reckon. It reveals things as they are for all to see and it’s clean. It talks to the good in us and the bad falls away because it has no power. I reckon that if we all stay and lean into it all, this shit that’s going on, and keep keeping it all transparent and bring it to light (as we have done already, organically, each in our unique way), there’s something in it for us all now and in the future in terms of paving our own way and setting a precedent in this online world – the usual, expected thing is to retreat, what happens if we don’t though? Isn’t there a real triumph in human spirit?
Adversity doesn’t build character – it reveals it.
Anyway, thanks for your touching comments. How lovely.
