Charitable Outreach of the Texas Rangers

Judge Peter (Pete) Lowry worked as an attorney and judge for nearly 40 years before retiring from his successful Austin, Texas, legal practice in 2005. Also a supporter of professional and collegiate Texas sports, Judge Pete Lowry follows Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers.
The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation is the team’s charitable arm. One key component of the foundation is the youth baseball program, designed to encourage interest in the sport among children from low-income families.
For seven seasons, the foundation has promoted the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) initiative. Part of a national program, RBI has given more than 3,000 children the chance to play softball and baseball in their neighborhoods in North Texas. The Rangers provided uniforms and equipment and hosted the RBI World Series, which drew teams from around the nation and the Caribbean.
Another major foundation project is the Miracle League of Dallas-Fort Worth. This effort brings together children with disabilities and creates environments where they can play safely. Rangers alumni attend Miracle League games, and the team sponsors Miracle League Night at Globe Life Park.
