Flaxen Quaaludes: A Fairy Tale
Katherine Marino

Thought-provoking read with a hopeful ending!

You got one minor detail wrong: The Disney version of Sleeping Beauty is based in about equal parts on Grimms’ Briar Rose and Perrault’s Sleeping Beauty. Perrault’s version can even be seen as more appropriate from a modern standpoint, because here instead of being awoken by the Prince’s (non-consensual) kiss, like in the Grimms’ version, the princessjust happens to awake as the prince looks at her, because the 100 years she had been cursed to sleep are over.
