I was also 38 when I was pregnant with my daughter, and I agree – it was a bit of a shock to the system to suddenly be “on display” again, after a number of years of lowered visibility.

In fact, I distinctly remember the first time I left the house on my own, a week or so after my daughter was born. I walked around the Mall thinking “No one is staring at me anymore! This is amazing!” I was relieved to be able to blend in again, versus having a big belly that was like a beacon saying “Come and ask me a bunch of personal questions.” ;-).

So yes, the pregnant lady image is most definitely missing in that progression….
