An Agnostic’s opinion on God

No one who is still alive knows what is behind the curtain. No one – not the Pope, not the TV preacher, not Tom Cruise, not the Dalai Lama, and not your aunt with all the crystals who can see auras.

That means *all* beliefs about the afterlife and/or God are just man-made theories. Some theories may be more compelling or resonate with certain people more than others, but ultimately we are all equal in our ignorance.

I have always preferred to embrace that ignorance. I don’t know what happens to us after we die, and I have no idea if there is a God and if so, what kind of form it takes etc etc. And maybe some folks are not OK with this not-knowing so they decide to take a leap of faith and just believe – but I have always been OK with not knowing, hence my lack of need to believe in, well, anything really. I can exist within that space of “who knows?” and be perfectly content. At peace, even.

So yeah, I figure if there is “anything else” I will find out when the time comes. In the meantime, I have things right now, in front of me, that I *know* matter – so I just focus on that stuff.
