Not exactly the same thing, but I would also add quit just “gifting” new parents with your old, so-crappy-it-is-useless baby stuff.
I know you are itching to get rid of the stuff (but also cannot bear to throw it away), but what makes you think the new Mom and Dad want used, chewed up baby bottles and a half of a tin of formula that was opened three years ago? Or used, stained toddler underwear? (All things I actually got handed to me, without asking me first, when my daughter was born).
All that “gifting” did was create a huge pile of literal garbage in my basement, that we then had to figure out how to get rid of ourselves (not a task anyone should be burdening new parents with!).
So yes: Stop just off-loading crap without asking! (And if you do ask and they seem even slightly hesitant, do not take it personally and do not keep trying to give it to them).
