Cool piece, Chris. I’m a huge advocate of well–rounded characters myself. I don’t slack on my characters whose Stories I tell. They are one facet, albeit a vital one, that can crystalize an idea into a diamond––if the author can figure out that special ingredient to their success. You can’t have a Story without sentient (a.k.a., not contrived, artificial) characters. Though they may take a heck of a long time to perfect, that time is worth it.
