Oh, I generally think the term “destination wedding” indicates that it’s not happening either where the couple lives or where their families are, but maybe I’m misinterpreting? Like, if I go to DC for my friend’s wedding because that’s where she and her partner live even though neither of them is from there, I wouldn’t think of that as a destination wedding. But if they live in DC, are from NY and Mass, and expect me to fly to Hawaii to see them get hitched, I’d consider it a destination weeding.
