Can AI Make You Fall In Love?

Most people have an idea in their heads of what the ideal partner is.

Close your eyes and picture the perfect looks. Do you have an image in your head? Maybe you have been attracted to brown hair and piercing green eyes ever since your first crush broke your heart.

Personality wise, we all have factors that would make someone the ideal romantic partner. For various reasons, we are all drawn to certain key traits within a partner.

When you combine looks and personality, one can make the argument that “love” is just a series of data points. In which case, an algorithm would be able to solve for “love” for each individual.

If it’s true that love is just a series of data, each variable coming together to form the perfect partner, than AI is going to be the preferred romantic partner for many humans.

It’s already starting to happen. AI girlfriends were the number one plug in built on ChatGPT. Men in China have been falling in love with Xiaoice for years.

Skeptics (and myself will agree) that there is no substitute for human/human love. It’s arguably the most beautiful aspect of humanity. The problem is, many people going forward won’t even give it a shot.
