Albert Einstein said it best, “compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it; he who doesn’t, pays it.” Compounding is a broad term. Everything compounds. Good decisions. Bad decisions. Small wins. Money. And energy.
I like to think of compounding in two different camps. There is compounding that is set it and forget it. And there is compounding that relies on constantly feeding it energy. Think of this version as a camp fire. It takes an initial spark to get going, but will eventually die off if you stop giving it fuel. Or, you can keep giving it endless source material to burn which can rage out of control and start a forest fire.
Either way, energy is ultimately what determines the level of burn.
Everyone, and I mean everyone (from individuals to the largest corporations) is aware of the growing energy concerns our planet is facing. While the number one reason to fix our energy problems is pretty obvious…the growing existential threat to our survival, there is another by-product of finding renewable energy sources.
Unlimited energy equals unlimited potential. The future we create in our wildest dreams is possible with unlimited energy. Because unlimited energy means everything compounds at a rate humans have never seen before.
