Other Words To Describe the “Unsportsmanlike” Shirt Incident at the US Open

It IS hot out, but we are all dealing with the heat without furiously striping down in front of thousands of viewers to try to make a statement. Unfortunately, Alize Cornet could not seem to contain herself any longer and disrobed ON THE COURT as if she was in her right mind. This incident has been deemed “unsportsmanlike,” but honestly, we here at the Women’s' Institute for Proper Behavior (American Chapter), think that is just the tip of the iceberg.

“Unreliable”

We expect professional athletes to be in control of their wardrobe. Why would we want our children looking up to someone who can’t even dress herself?

“Suspicious”

The whole thing makes me wonder if she had a drink during the match.

“Superfluous”

Was the shirt even that different when she inevitably turned it around?

“Vindictive”

This was obviously a ploy to try to distract her opponent, but the umpire would not allow such blatantly bitter tactics.

“Excessive”

I have never been in a similar situation myself, but I am sure there is a way she could have turned the shirt around without actually TAKING IT OFF.

“Boastful”

We get it, you’re an athlete, that doesn’t mean you have to show off.

“Opportunistic”

The men are allowed to be shirtless on the court, but they are just better (it’s genetics) and therefore pull in higher ratings. Maybe she was trying to entice viewers to switch over to the women’s match?

“Dramatic”

I don’t know why this hasn’t been used already, but is seems like she just wanted the attention.
