Friday Feelings — 7th Edition — Proxy

I don’t feel like having my own feelings this week. I’m like Darwin in that diary entry, but less special. So, instead I have chosen to delegate my feelings, and hereby present to you my feelings by proxy, as captured by Samantha Whates in her new album, Waiting Rooms, out today and well worth your time and dolla dolla bills, y’all.

  • I love my life, although it’s hard as hell. Maybe dying would be worse. (Love My Life)
  • Living in a movie scene, looking at a cinema screen. That’s how it feels when you’re living through someone else’s ideals. (Cinema Song)
  • Trying to love myself. Learning to love myself. We’re all learning to love ourselves. (Sometimes Somethings)
  • Sometimes, the smallest things hurt the most, and I’m guilty. (Guilty)
  • We beat ourselves up too much. But the boat still sails on. (Sailors)

NB: This delegation also called to mind the following, from Stay Down, by boygenius:

  • I look at you, and you look at a screen/I’m in the back seat of my body/I’m steering my life in a video game/Similar acts and a different name

Have a great weekend. Be love and be loved. x
