The Decorated Career of Snowboarder Shaun White

A former marketing manager for the Mirage Resort and Casino as well as the Bellagio Resort and Casino, Justin Litterelle is the director of cultural programming for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants. Beyond his work-related responsibilities, Justin Litterelle enjoys snowboarding.
A native of California, Shaun White is one of the world’s most accomplished snowboarders. The 31 year old has competed in three Winter Olympics and won two gold medals. He earned his first gold medal in the halfpipe event at the 2006 games and became a repeat champion in 2010, when he scored a 46.8 out of a possible 50 points in his first of two finals run to secure the gold medal. Though he didn’t need to complete his second run, he did so anyway and scored an impressive 48.4. He finished fourth in the halfpipe event at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
In addition to Olympic success, White is one of the most prominent X Games athletes of all time. The snowboarder made his X Games debut when he was just 13 years old and has since won 23 medals, 15 of which have been gold. He earned a pair of silver medals in slopestyle and superpipe at the 2002 Games and, the following year, finished first in both events. White is the only athlete to record a perfect score of 100 in superpipe and has also won gold in skateboarding.
