100% agree with this! It’s the path I’ll always recommend to designers to improve their craft. Reworking something allows you to take note of the details and make discoveries by doing.
This was less about discouraging the practicing of our design skills and more about how we approach criticism. It’s less about the doing and more about the how and the why. Redesigning a logo because we think we could do better oftentimes negates the communicative goals (and restrictions) that redesigns go through.
